He holds a Master of Science in Health Law and Strategy from New York University and a bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Washington State University. With a deep understanding of complex healthcare systems, he advises clients on developing tailored, policy-informed solutions that drive meaningful impact and sustainable growth.
Anthony is a healthcare consultant and COO for Humanity Advisory Group. Originally from El Paso, TX, who honorably served and retired after 20 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Army. He holds leadership certifications from West Point and Columbia University and has an educational background in psychology. Anthony earned his Master of Science in Health Law and Strategy from New York University, combining military leadership with healthcare expertise to drive strategic solutions.
Dr. Johnson is a Yale-trained, board-certified psychiatrist, Marine Corps veteran, and law student, and is dedicated to advancing transformative changes in healthcare and veteran advocacy. He is driven by a commitment to service, strategic leadership, and mentorship.
He completed his psychiatry residency at Yale University, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the teacher and mentor of the year award, during which he simultaneously earned his MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management. He holds a medical degree (D.O.) from Rowan University, master’s degree (M.S.) in health law and strategy from New York University School of Law, and bachelor’s degrees (B.S.) in Health Sciences and Biopsychology from Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University). He is currently a law student (JD) at Fordham University School of Law.
Dr. Johnson owns and operates Encompass Psychiatry LLC; a consulting practice focused on independent medical consultations for veterans seeking VA benefits. His military background, including deployments to Afghanistan and multiple personal commendations, continues to shape his dedication to advocacy and mentorship. He is also a co-founder and both the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Strategy Officer for Humanity Advisory Group, a healthcare strategy and consulting firm where he can drive his expertise at the crossroads of medicine, business, and law. Additionally, he is the current behavioral health Medical Director for NJ Medicaid through Elevance Health and is the former Medical Director of RWJ University Hospital systems eating disorders programming. He holds a professorship with Rutgers RWJ Medical School.
Dr. Johnson has published and presented research on veteran health, PTSD, addiction, cancer, cardiac disease, integrative medicine, eating disorders, and general psychiatric conditions. His most recent work includes a textbook chapter on integrative medicine in psychiatry and on refeeding-induced recurrence of tardive dyskinesia. He has a paper pending peer review on treatment of tianeptine and kratom misuse and is writing a paper on delayed onset hepatic steatosis amid static NG nutrition.
